Yonic launches funding campaign for its Piracanga Reserve Project

Yonic, has launched the European funding campaign for its new Piracanga Reserve Project. The Piracanga Reserve Project is a pioneering effort that brings together Yonic’s years of know-how in biodiversity in the creation of a unique tourist camp that provides adventure and discovery on the Marau peninsula, located in Bahia. Marau is part of the fragile ecosystem that is part of UNESCO’s Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. The Piricanga Project creates a new type of tourism that promotes a balanced and respectful life style and offers eco-activities, such as reforestation projects, and recreational activities.

The Project includes several phases, such as development of a tourist camp, educational workshop and wildlife preservation. The timing of the Piricanga Project coincides with the creation of a new road, that has increased tourism, which in turn threatens this fragile ecosystem. Yonic believes that by pioneering the Piricanga Reserve Project tourists as well as any future developments will help ensure the peninsula’s environment rather than its destruction. Presentations about the project, including current photography works and crafts, are to take place in London, Zurich, Geneva and Gstaad in order to spread the word about Piricanga and identify potential financial partners.
